WTBR-FM is proud to be the official radio partner of the Pittsfield Suns for the 2022 season, and will broadcast the team’s entire 

64-game Futures Collegiate Baseball League schedule live.

 

WTBR’s coverage of the Pittsfield Suns will begin with the team’s season opener on Thursday, May 26 at the Nashua Silver Knights in Nashua, N.H. The Suns’ first home game is Friday, May 27 against the Norwich Sea Unicorns.

BILLY MADEWELL IV

DIRECTOR OF BROADCASTING AND MEDIA RELATIONS, PITTSFIELD SUNS

 

Billy Madewell is well known to Pittsfield baseball fans, serving as the “voice” of the Sun for his ninth year in 2022.  Before that, he served as color commentator for the Pittsfield Colonials back in 2011.  Madewell has been the longest-tenured broadcaster in the FCBL, calling Pittsfield Suns games full time since the inception of the team in 2012. He has also broadcasted every FCBL All-Star Game from 2013 to 2019. 

Madewell is a 2011 graduate of Taconic High School and has been involved in broadcasting and athletics since entering high school.  Billy’s history with WTBR started his junior year at Taconic High School, when he became the youngest program director for the station’s high school era.

Another veteran of Berkshire County Baseball, Jacob Munch is a native of Lenox and served as part of the Data Analytics team for the North Adams Steeplecats in 2021.  While he is currently still attending college at the Isenberg School of Management at UMass Amherst for Sports Management and Analytics, he has made a name for himself as one of the premiere announcers for UMass Women’s Basketball, Men’s/Women’s Soccer, Field Hockey, Baseball, and Softball on 91.1 WMUA-FM and ESPN+.
