Nearly all of the programming you hear on WTBR-FM is produced by local volunteers who want to share their passions – in music and in conversation – with our listeners.  By following these steps, you can join us and become a community radio producer!

Step 1: Develop A Concept

Every program starts with an idea. Think about what kind of show you want to create. Will it be music? Talk? Work on expressing that idea in a few sentences, in preparation for your proposal.

Step 3: Submit A Proposal

Prospective radio producers are required to submit a program proposal to our Programming Committee for review. Click on the icon above to download and fill out our convenient proposal form.

Step 5: Attend Training

If your proposal is approved, you will be invited to attend WTBR-FM producer training, where you will learn how to apply our rules, use our equipment and create a professional sounding program.

Step 2: Know Our Rules

Because WTBR-FM broadcasts under a FCC Non-Commercial Educational License, you must be knowledgeable about the rules under which we operate - click on the icon above to read and download these rules.

Step 4: Meet With Programming Committee

Once your proposal has been reviewed, you will be invited to meet with our Programming Committee - their approval is REQUIRED before you are able to pursue your show's production any further.

Step 6: Start Production

After successfully completing your training, you will be scheduled an air time and will start producing your very own radio show, heard throughout the Pittsfield broadcast area!
